Firefighters are battling the rapidly spreading Putah Fire in Northern California’s Wine Country, which ignited around 11:30 a.m. Monday near Highway 128. As of Tuesday morning, the blaze has burned 362 acres and is 20% contained, with the cause under investigation. The fire prompted evacuation warnings and road closures as strong winds and rugged terrain fueled its rapid expansion. Initially reported near a scheduled prescribed burn, officials haven’t confirmed any connection. Evacuation warnings for affected communities have since been lifted, though advisories remain in place. No injuries or structural damage have been reported. Efforts to control the fire include aerial support and ground crews focusing on containment as investigations continue.
