Modular homes for wildfire survivors are being transported from Kahului to the Ka Laʻi Ola housing site in Lahaina. The haul takes place nightly at 9 p.m. from February 26 to 28, involving trucks that will travel a specific route through Kahului to Lahaina, with daytime transport from Kahului Harbor to a staging site on February 24 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should expect traffic delays and are advised to follow signs and directions from traffic controllers due to the large size of the homes and accompanying escorts. For real-time updates, drivers can check the Hawaii Department of Transportation’s social media.
