The 2025 Ohio Stormwater Conference featured a presentation by Bradley Petru on the Harroun Community Park Stream restoration in Sylvania, Ohio. The project, set in a 125-square-mile watershed, faced challenges due to industrialization in the 1980s, leading to bank erosion. The company conducted various environmental assessments, including tree and mussel surveys, to create a design plan focusing on critical infrastructure like a bridge and sewer line.

Despite construction occurring during the wet season, which led to multiple floods, Petru emphasized the positive community response to the project. He noted the importance of construction quality assurance and collaboration between design and engineering teams. Looking ahead, effective post-construction care will be essential for the health of the newly planted vegetation.
