The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) is initiating a project to create defensible space around 37 water supply sites to protect against wildfires. Funded by a Cal Fire prevention grant, the project aims to enhance wildfire resilience by safeguarding critical infrastructure like water tanks and pumping stations. SLVWD General Manager Jason Lillion emphasized the importance of these preventive measures for community water security. This effort follows previous initiatives, including vegetation management and infrastructure upgrades, to bolster the local water supply against fire threats.
