AdTech Holding hosted the 4th HackTech in Limassol, Cyprus, on November 15-16, focusing on “Tech vs wildfires.” Over 100 developers created prototypes to enhance the island’s wildfire preparedness and recovery. The event emphasized three tracks: prevention (early warning systems), protection (real-time monitoring), and recovery (post-fire assessment). Funded by the EU’s NextGenerationEU and supported by various sponsors, the hackathon was attended by Deputy Minister Dr. Nicodemos Damianou, who highlighted governmental efforts in wildfire prevention.
A diverse jury evaluated projects on innovation and practical application, distributing a €30,000 prize among the top three teams: Nexxians, Cold Reload, and DasoPhylax. HackTech has become a vital platform for collaboration between the tech community and government agencies in addressing critical local challenges.
