Metro Atlanta is experiencing hazy conditions due to wildfire smoke from fires in South Georgia and Florida’s Big Bend area, as reported by a National Weather Service meteorologist. The smoky haze is expected to persist through Friday or longer. The intense dry conditions have facilitated the spread of these wildfires, contributing to the noticeable haze, especially around Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. With air quality at risk, residents are advised to remain aware of the smoke impacts as they continue through the region.
