Sangyeon, the leader of boy band The Boyz, donated 30 million won ($21,000) to aid recovery efforts in North Gyeongsang following last month’s wildfires. The contribution, made in the name of The B (the band’s fan club), will also support the improvement of firefighters’ working conditions. In a press release, Sangyeon expressed his hope that the donation would comfort those affected by the wildfires and showed gratitude towards the firefighters for their service. Sangyeon, born in 1996 and debuting with The Boyz in 2017, started his military duty on March 17, coinciding with the release of the band’s third album. He will complete his service on September 16, 2026.
