Since 2010, ARIPPA has collaborated with EPCAMR and WPCAMR to provide competitive grants for watershed and conservancy organizations addressing abandoned mine drainage (AMD) and abandoned mine land (AML) remediation in Pennsylvania. Thus far, ARIPPA has donated $108,000 to support various volunteer groups tackling the state’s mine-related issues. Remediation projects are typically expensive, costing around $8,000 per acre. Grants aim to assist environmental organizations in the anthracite and bituminous regions, tailored to demonstrated needs. For more details or to apply, refer to the ARIPPA Reclamation Grants webpage.
