Central Texas is expected to experience warm and dry weather over the next week, with seasonal highs in the low 90s as a weak disturbance passes through. Although conditions will remain tranquil with comfortable humidity, no significant rain is anticipated. September saw only 0.08 inches of rain, marking the driest month on record for Austin since 2008, resulting in a cumulative rainfall deficit of over 20 inches compared to norms. This absence of rain has reinstated moderate to severe drought conditions, prompting the Texas A&M Forest Service to issue a high wildfire threat. Currently, 93 counties are under burn bans, including most in Central Texas.
