The Wonders of Watersheds (WOW!) program, run by the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP), provides engaging environmental science lessons to Title I 2nd-6th grade classrooms. The curriculum includes five 80-minute interactive lessons on topics like salmon biology, biodiversity, human impacts on watersheds, and environmental interdependence. The program aims to connect scientific professionals with students and communities, fostering environmental stewardship and understanding. At Lagunitas Elementary School, students participate in activities such as salmon dissections and macroinvertebrate sampling. Overall, the series promotes awareness of conservation and environmental responsibility among young learners.
