Union County offers free 30-45 minute in-house science presentations about watersheds and environmental concepts, aimed at teachers and community groups. Led by NJ Americorps Watershed Ambassador Cynthia Romero, these interactive sessions use a three-dimensional EnviroscapeĀ® model to demonstrate human impacts on waterways. Freeholder Chairman Mohamed S. Jalloh emphasizes the importance of understanding watersheds for community health. The program suggests practical steps for reducing pollution, such as limiting pesticide use and properly disposing of pet waste. Interested parties can schedule presentations or training sessions by contacting Romero at the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.
