Watch Duty has launched a new audio alert for its wildfire alerts app, developed in partnership with Sixième Son, to better inform users about emergencies. Announced on November 3, 2025, the app serves over 15 million users across 22 states.

The sound is designed to penetrate everyday noise while maintaining calmness, aiding quick comprehension in stressful situations. It features a natural quality inspired by water drops and is optimized for smartphone speakers at around 1000 Hz, resembling human voice tones. This initiative aims to counteract notification fatigue.

Watch Duty’s user base grew significantly following recent wildfire incidents, cementing the app’s reputation as a critical safety tool. Future plans include adding a new, calmer alert sound for preparing users for potential dangers like floods.

Overall, the app’s design emphasizes clear communication during emergencies, which is vital for community awareness and preparedness.
