Evacuation Alerts Issued as Gilmore Trail Fire Expands Near Fairbanks

Evacuation Alerts Issued As Gilmore Trail Fire Expands Near Fairbanks

A fast-growing wildfire near Gilmore Trail, Alaska, has prompted evacuation alerts in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The Gilmore Trail Fire has reached about 10 acres. Officials issued a Level 3 “GO” evacuation order for Monzulla Lane and Hopper Creek Drive, while a Level 2 “SET” notice affects Gilmore Trail and nearby roads. A Level 1 “Ready” alert covers additional areas. City resources, including helicopters and smokejumpers, are on-site to combat the fire. Residents can access evacuation guidance and live updates online.
