The Saline River Watershed Alliance has received $196,550 in federal funding for watershed restoration projects starting in 2027. This funding is part of a larger $3.175 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, aimed at reducing nonpoint source pollution and enhancing water quality. The projects will focus on stabilizing eroding streambanks, minimizing sediment, improving aquatic habitats, and overall water quality in the Saline River watershed. Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward emphasized the importance of clean water for community health and future investments in the state.
