The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has awarded nearly $25,000 to The Watershed Movement in Ada, effective July 1. The grant aims to divert recyclable glass from local landfills. Kimberly Elkin, executive director and aquatic ecologist of the nonprofit, emphasized the initiative’s focus on improving local watersheds by reducing solid waste.
