The Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to restrict tour buses in fire-affected areas of Pacific Palisades to enhance public safety during recovery efforts from January’s wildfire. The resolution allows the Department of Transportation to prohibit vehicles over 6,000 pounds, including most tour buses, in a 16-square-mile zone. Enforcement will be handled by the LAPD until the wildfire emergency declaration ends. Boundaries stretch from the Santa Monica Mountains to the coastline. Councilwoman Traci Park initiated the motion after community concerns regarding disaster tours.
