At the Jan. 7 Olympia City Council meeting, Council Member Madron highlighted recent LOTT actions, including a renewed accord with the Squaxin Island Tribe, a $525,000 commitment for watershed restoration over six years, and a discounted land sale to Lacey for affordable housing. The accord includes an updated land acknowledgment, and the funding targets projects in the Henderson Inlet area. The surplus land sale is designed for affordable housing development, reflecting regional collaboration on water quality and housing. LOTT’s strategic plan also includes initiatives like reduced connection fees for affordable housing. Council members emphasized the importance of aligning LOTT’s efforts with city planning.
