The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is accepting applications for stewardship funding for community projects focused on enhancing local watercourses. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, with a total of $55,000 available in 2026. Projects must be led by non-profits, involve community volunteers, and obtain necessary permits. Priority is given to initiatives aligned with RDN-supported water assessments. Since 2016, the DWWP program has funded 43 projects, totaling over $1 million in support for watershed restoration. For applications and details, visit rdn.bc.ca/stewardship-seed-funding.
