The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) has collaborated with Maryland Public Television (MPT) to create “Welcome to Your Watershed,” an interactive educational resource for elementary and middle school students, now available on MPT’s Thinkport website. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of environmental science by illustrating water movement and the significance of protecting local waterways, particularly the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The project evolved from a simple card game into a comprehensive instructional tool featuring engaging activities aligned with educational standards. Funding comes from a grant supporting agricultural outreach, and the MDA’s Office of Resource Conservation provided guidance. For more information, contact Rona Flagle at the MDA.
