Two New Hope-Solebury High School graduates, Sofia Tasoluk and Rena Xu, received Malcolm P. Crooks Scholarships from the Aquetong Watershed Association (AWA) for their commitment to environmental sciences. Sofia will attend the University of Miami to study Environmental Science, while Rena aims to study Material Science Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on waste reduction and green energy. The scholarships recognize scholastic achievements and community involvement. Established in 2013, these scholarships honor Malcolm P. Crooks, a dedicated environmentalist. The AWA, formed in 2007, promotes conservation in the Aquetong watershed area. With this year’s awards, AWA has awarded seventeen scholarships to deserving students. For more information or contributions, visit AWA’s website.
