This week, PBS’s “Changing Planet” will feature the Yurok Tribe’s efforts to restore the Klamath River watershed and support local wildlife, including the California condor. The episode, titled “River Restoration,” highlights the tribe’s contributions to ecosystem restoration following the removal of Klamath dams. Tiana Williams-Claussen, the Wildlife Department Director, emphasizes the tribe’s expansive vision for restoration, focusing not just on individual areas but on the entire ecosystem connected by water. The Yurok Tribe’s previous restoration work was showcased in the series’ first season. The episode, filmed last spring, includes footage of the Klamath River, condor management, and the tribe’s collaborative work. It can be viewed locally and through PBS-related platforms.
