The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality is inviting proposals for projects designed to reduce nonpoint source pollution in impaired waterways, particularly those listed as Category 4 or 5 in recent reports. Eligible applicants include government entities, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and tribal groups with an EPA-approved nonpoint source management plan. The DEQ anticipates awarding $1.5 million for these projects in fiscal 2025 through the Clean Water Act-Section 319 (h) Nonpoint Source Grant funding program. Draft applications are due by April 4 for preliminary review, while final submissions are accepted until May 30. More information is available on the DEQ’s grant program website. For inquiries, contact Rishi Bastakoti at the provided email.
