A 4-alarm grass fire ignited near I-280 in Redwood City, possibly sparked by a car fire. It began just before 5 p.m., leading to the evacuation of 10 homes as a precaution. Factors like wind and heat contributed to the fire’s rapid spread, prompting a quick response from firefighters, who managed to halt progress by 7 p.m. The blaze affected 10 acres on both sides of the freeway. Fortunately, no injuries or home damages were reported. Fire officials continued cleanup efforts overnight, assuring community safety.
