Two new outdoor education resources—Field Sites Database and Watershed Communication Toolkit—aim to enhance environmental science education in Nevada and Yuba Counties, developed with an EPA grant. Both resources are publicly available and help educators plan field trips and foster student engagement with local ecosystems.

The Field Sites Database centralizes information on outdoor locations, providing maps, photos, and logistical details for safe visits, making it accessible not just for educators but also for families.

The Watershed Communication Toolkit encourages students to document and share their outdoor learning experiences, fostering connections across communities. Initial piloting by teachers showed positive student engagement through presentations and exchanges.

These resources promote community involvement in environmental education, and further details can be found at www.sierrastreamsinstitute.org/watershed-learning-resources.
