The City of Twin Falls has adopted a Rock Creek Watershed Restoration Master Plan aimed at addressing contamination from untreated waste and runoff that has persisted for nearly a century. The Twin Falls City Council approved the plan, developed by Jacobs Engineering with $5 million in grants. The plan outlines 20 projects in urban stormwater, riparian, and agricultural categories for the restoration of Rock Creek. City officials noted that while water quality has improved significantly since the 1950s, ongoing efforts are crucial. A top project includes a bio-filtration system to manage stormwater runoff. The plan also prepares the city for upcoming EPA requirements regarding contaminated stormwater management.
