Okeechobee County Fire Rescue announced a prescribed burn scheduled for Wednesday in the Lake Okeechobee Watershed Restoration Project Area, covering up to 135 acres near Paradise Run in Glades County. The burn unit is located southwest of Buckhead Ridge along Highway 78. This controlled burn is part of efforts to manage and restore the watershed. Residents are advised to be cautious of smoke in the area during the operation.
