Crews in Palm Bay tackled a significant wildfire near Woodstock Drive SW and Imura Road SW, known as “The Compound.” Initially sparked by five to seven smaller fires, strong winds expanded the blaze to 70 acres. Evacuation notices were issued due to many people engaging in recreational activities, including ATV riding and rocketry. A Rocketry Club may be responsible for one fire, while the causes of others remain unknown. The fire, named the “Woodstock Fire,” is now contained, posing no threat to life or property, with no reported injuries. Brevard County had recently lifted a burn ban on April 8.
