Logan has removed about 60 cars and other debris, including mattresses and tires, from the Logan River as part of a restoration project. City leaders, including Parks & Recreation Director Russ Akina, emphasized the importance of cleaning up the river channel. The project, which aims to expand the city’s trail system and restore wetlands, has been challenging due to unexpected debris like concrete and rebar. The $4.7 million initiative is funded through various grants and contributions from local entities. The improvements are intended to enhance public safety and water quality, with Trapper Park set to reopen on June 1st.
