Grammy Award-winning artist Apl.de.ap participated in the Handuraw Panaw Project launch in Cebu on May 28, 2026, emphasizing environmental advocacy, watershed restoration, and community sustainability. Partnering with Omste Ventures, the initiative focuses on agroforestry, reforestation, and regenerative agriculture to boost local farmers’ income while enhancing soil quality. Apl.de.ap, reflecting on his upbringing in poverty in Pampanga, shared how his experiences shaped his passion for agriculture. His pandemic-inspired return to farming led to exploring sustainable practices and biochar technology in the Philippines. The Handuraw Panaw Project aims to unite communities, universities, and local governments for environmental conservation. Apl.de.ap’s collaboration with Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival highlights shared goals to protect the environment and support farmers. The project promotes long-term partnerships and the appreciation of agriculture among younger generations.
