An evacuation order for the Thunder Lake subdivision in Barrhead County, northwest of Edmonton, has been lifted after a wildfire was extinguished. Residents were allowed to return as fire department members assisted re-entry. County manager Debbie Oyarzun reported that the fire resulted in damage to 13 properties, with six buildings completely destroyed. The fire prompted an emergency alert and evacuation order for nearby areas. It was contained by Thursday evening, allowing for the gradual lifting of evacuation orders.
