The need for nations to implement national adaptation plans and integrate climate action into development goals is highlighted, alongside the importance of developed countries fulfilling their $100 billion annual pledge to aid developing nations.

Record economic losses last year due to extreme weather reflect the urgent need for an integrated approach to disaster risk reduction and climate change, aligning with the Paris Climate Agreement and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. Increased risks driven by climate change necessitate risk-informed development strategies to avoid catastrophic future scenarios. Collaborative actions from cities, businesses, and other non-governmental actors have begun to bolster resilience efforts. Ultimately, translating frameworks into concrete actions is imperative to protect lives and economies worldwide.
