The Searsville Watershed Restoration Project aims to restore natural waterways and improve fish passage by constructing a tunnel under the Searsville Dam, enhancing riparian habitats, and flushing trapped sediment. Modifications to the San Francisquito Creek Pump Station and Felt Reservoir will replace existing water storage. A new 404 permit was submitted on January 26, 2026, with public comments accepted on the Notice of Intent and Notice of Preparation. Two virtual public meetings are scheduled for April 7 and 8, 2026, to engage the community. Comments to the Army Corps of Engineers are due by April 11, and to the Department of Water Resources by April 17.
