Regional director Randy Morrison noted that many organizations are facing similar delays. He emphasized the bipartisan importance of reducing fuels in wildland-urban interfaces. Other wildfire-related projects, including an educational program from the Southern Oregon Forest Restoration Collaborative and workforce training from the Lomakatsi Restoration Project, are also experiencing funding uncertainties. The USDA stated that it is reviewing contracts but will continue hazardous fuels reduction activities under other funding sources, prioritizing community protection and resource sustainability.
