A rainfall warning for the Fraser Valley has been upgraded to orange due to a prolonged atmospheric river event, with heavy rain expected to taper off Friday afternoon. Total rainfall could reach up to 120 mm, raising flood risks from snowmelt and leading to potential road pooling and landslides. The B.C. River Forecast Centre issued a flood watch, warning of localized flooding that may affect travel and critical infrastructure. An evacuation alert has been issued for certain areas due to high river flows. Residents are advised to stay safe and use sandbags available at local firehalls.
