Drones will be used to scatter seeds of native tree species over land in Lochaber damaged by wildfires, specifically on the Glenuig Estate. The Lochaber Nature Restoration Partnership, involving local communities and land managers, will involve volunteers in seed collection for the “Seeds from the Sky” project, funded by the Highlands and Islands Environment Foundation. Launched last year, the initiative aims to restore habitats and enhance local socio-economic opportunities over the next 50 years. A spokesperson mentioned that the project seeks to accelerate woodland regeneration through drone seeding, allowing natural distribution processes to take place.
