Researchers at the University of Liverpool, in collaboration with Kingston University, are developing an online resource to improve understanding of Britain’s physical landscape and enhance management of natural hazards, wildlife habitats, and leisure areas. The project aims to centralize scattered research on landforms and materials, which is vital for sustainable environmental management and climate change projects. Professor Janet Hooke emphasized the importance of understanding landscape dynamics for construction and conservation efforts. Funded by the Natural Environment Research Council, the project will yield searchable maps linking areas of Britain to relevant research, facilitating better habitat conservation, sustainable development, and enjoyment of the countryside.
