Los Angeles County officials lifted the ocean water quality advisory for beaches affected by recent wildfires. Testing from January to March indicated no dangerous levels of metals or chemicals in ocean water or sand. Beaches from Las Flores State Beach to Santa Monica State Beach are now open to the public for swimming and sand activities. However, health officials advise caution around beaches near burned areas due to potential harmful debris and recommend avoiding water with visible debris, especially during high tide.
