Peter Moyle is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at UC Davis, renowned for over 240 publications, including “Inland Fishes of California.” His research focuses on the conservation of aquatic species, particularly salmon, and the ecology of California’s aquatic habitats.

Robert Lusardi, a researcher with California Trout/UC Davis, works to connect academic science with conservation policy, covering projects related to Coho salmon and inland trout management. He collaborates closely with Moyle on initiatives to enhance conservation efforts in California.

Patrick Samuel serves as the Conservation Program Coordinator for California Trout, managing various research projects, including the State of the Salmonids report. He has a background in fisheries, starting as an intern with NOAA Fisheries and working with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife.

Overall, the authors contribute to aquatic conservation through research and policy advocacy, focusing on California’s fish populations and their habitats.
