The “Learn About Your Home Waters” speaker series focuses on Central Oregon’s Whychus watershed, covering its ecology, history, and creek restoration. Organized by Central Oregon Community College and the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, the series runs every other Tuesday from February 24 through April 7 at The Hub in downtown Sisters. It features four presentations, two field trips, and hands-on activities like fly-casting and gyotaku printmaking for a fee of $59. This initiative aims to educate the community on Whychus Creek’s hydrology and restoration efforts. For additional details, contact Kolleen Miller at her email. The Upper Deschutes Watershed Council has been actively protecting and restoring the area since 1996.
