The Dallas-Fort Worth area hasn’t received rain in two weeks, resulting in dry conditions and an elevated risk of wildfires, particularly on Sunday due to wind gusts of up to 24 mph. The National Weather Service recommends avoiding outdoor burning this weekend. October typically sees 4.7 inches of rainfall in North Texas, but last year was notably dry, with only 0.2 inches recorded. The Climate Prediction Center forecasts continued below-average precipitation, which may prolong fire risks. Upcoming weather includes warm temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 80s and 90s.
