The Wildfire-Ready Coalition of Nevada County, CA, aims to help residents transition from good intentions to actionable steps for wildfire preparedness through a series of free workshops and community events. Key offerings include guided winter forest walks from January 31 to March 14, emphasizing forest health and wildfire resilience, as well as hands-on workshops like a Pile Burn Workshop on February 7 to teach safe burning techniques.

Home preparedness is a focal point, with workshops addressing home hardening and defensible space, showing that these measures can vastly improve a home’s survival chances during wildfires. Community connection is also highlighted via events like the Hearts on Fire gathering on February 13, which aims to unite residents in support of wildfire resilience.

The Coalition is a nonprofit focused on wildfire education and community preparedness, encouraging active participation from locals to enhance fire safety.
