Donald Trump’s immigration policy has sparked controversy after U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested two private firefighters battling Washington State’s Bear Gulch wildfire. Reports indicate that agents ordered firefighters to line up for ID checks, arresting at least one individual while others were warned against filming. Fire management confirmed awareness of the enforcement action but stated it did not interfere with firefighting efforts.

The incident, occurring amid ongoing aggressive immigration enforcement, has drawn backlash even from some Trump supporters, highlighting concerns over targeting essential workers rather than criminals. Currently, the Bear Gulch fire has burned nearly 9,000 acres, with 400 personnel engaged in combating the blaze. The situation raises questions about the appropriateness of deportation operations at disaster sites, particularly during emergencies.
