A wildfire near the Jemez Falls Campground in the Santa Fe National Forest has led to evacuations, including the YMCA Camp Shaver. The McCauley Springs fire, which began on June 24, has prompted concerns due to its potential spread. Evacuated individuals are directed to the Mountain Baptist Church in La Cueva, while parents can pick up campers at Jemez Valley High School. Emergency crews are actively working to contain the fire, which has burned around four acres, with smoke visible from as far as Albuquerque. Portions of Highway 4 and several campgrounds are closed as a precaution.
