The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) announced funding opportunities for fish and wildlife conservation projects in the Klamath Basin, totaling $11.5 million from various U.S. Department of Agriculture agencies and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. NFWF has been involved in voluntary habitat restoration for over 30 years. The funding breakdown includes $7.04 million for water conservation projects, $2 million for technical assistance in regenerative agriculture, $1.793 million for conservation planning to enhance watershed resilience, and $720,000 for monitoring headwater restoration in specific forests.

An applicant webinar is scheduled for January 21, 2025, and proposals are due by February 25, 2025. Eligible applicants include local governments, nonprofits, and educational institutions. NFWF aims to enhance fish populations and ecosystem health across the region. For more details, visit their Klamath Basin funding program webpage.
