The Klamath River Fund, part of the Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation, awarded $1.2 million in grants to 12 organizations for river restoration projects in the Klamath Basin. The funds support sustainable agriculture, enhance bird habitats, and respect Tribal traditions. Notable recipients include the Klamath Drainage District, which plans to build an informational kiosk and bird viewing blinds. The grants aim to harness opportunities from dam removals, improve public access, and engage local communities. Key projects include youth mentoring, museum exhibits, habitat restoration, and river flow studies. For grant applications, visit their website.
