A state of emergency is in effect in several Georgia counties as wildfires spread. Seth Hawkins from the Georgia Forestry Service reported that resources are being ramped up continuously. Favorable weather conditions overnight helped slow the fire’s progress, but dry conditions remain a significant challenge.
