Jim Wilcox celebrated 35 years with Plumas Corporation, where he has served as executive director since 2014. He has been instrumental in designing and building 70 habitat restoration projects, restoring 4,595 acres, mainly in the Feather River Watershed. Under his leadership, staffing grew from six to 18, and the organization expanded into Fire Safe Council programs.

Wilcox’s expertise has enhanced local capacities across the Sierra Nevada and beyond through his training and guidance. He maintained an extensive stream gage monitoring network for 26 years. His work secured funding for hydrology monitoring sites from Tulare to Lassen County, enabling important data collection on meadow restoration.

Colleagues commend his deep understanding of meadow ecology. Wilcox plans to continue part-time as a senior executive advisor, leaving a legacy of dedication to watershed improvement and a strong organizational culture at Plumas Corporation.
