On April 17, 2024, HCPSS biology students, teachers, and local representatives gathered at the Howard County Conservancy for the 10th annual Watershed Summit, showcasing students’ work in the Watershed Report Card Program. This initiative involves assessing the health of local ecosystems and creating improvement recommendations. HCPSS Acting Superintendent William J. Barnes praised the program’s decade-long positive impact, fostering informed environmental citizens. Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball proclaimed April 17, 2024, as Watershed Report Card Day. Students presented their findings and engaged with officials, emphasizing the value of collaboration and real-world application of their research.
