The Schuylkill River Watershed is benefiting from nearly $655,000 in grants from the Schuylkill River Restoration Fund (SRRF), aimed at improving water quality through habitat restoration, agricultural pollution reduction, and stormwater management. Key members of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) participated in a recent awards ceremony at Ontelaunee Park, where they highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among government, nonprofits, and local communities.

The SRRF, established in 2006 and stemming from a 2004 agreement with Exelon (now Constellation), has funded 127 projects, raising over $6 million and attracting an additional $15 million for environmental improvements in the watershed. Participants in the ceremony toured sites like the Breinig Property and Last Chance Angus Farm to see the tangible benefits of grant funding in reducing runoff and preserving landscapes.
