Summit County, Colorado, is proactively preparing for a potentially severe wildfire season by launching an early wildfire preparedness campaign. Emergency Management Director Brian Bovaird reported a collaborative effort with police, fire departments, and the U.S. Forest Service, which typically begins in June. The agency is coordinating training exercises, expecting 50 participants, and planning a community evacuation drill on April 26. Residents will practice responding to mock evacuation alerts, underscoring the community’s heightened interest and engagement in wildfire readiness.
